Windrider—aka Leonopteryx—aka Fafnir

The legendary Fafnir makes its home on Archos's mysterious floating islands. It wields impressive strength and unparalleled flight speed and control, cutting through the sky like a well-sharpened blade. Because of its large size, it can be used as an aerial transport, carrying large quantities of materials across huge distances. Although it is terrifyingly powerful, many of Archos's citizens revere the Fafnir as a holy guardian creature. One of the Fafnir's most powerful special abilities is to summon a wave of cold to freeze all enemies in a wide area. (Text from the press kit)

Transformation Details[ | ]

After 2 - 10 hours in a server with 1x taming, a Nidgoh (Elite) has a chance to transform into a Windrider. The chance of its transformation is higher while the elite is still glowing green. If it is glowing red, you have ruined your chance for it to transform. It is important to note that the level of the Elite is irrelevant as the level will randomly change if it evolves. For example; a level 8 Elite Nidhog could evolve into a level 108 Windrider.

Strategies: Trap an elite Nidhog/Banshee and wait he transform into Windrider.

Equipment: IronHook Arrows: 200-800 depending on level

The Windrider prefers food in the following order:
